Legislation
Act 194 of 2012 establishes a state trust fund to enhance programs, services
and benefits for Pennsylvania's one million veterans.
Act 185 of 2012 establishes an initiative for assisting veteran-owned
businesses to obtain state contracts and sets a statewide annual goal at least
3-percent participation in state contracts entered into by Department of General
Services with veteran-owned small businesses.
Act 76 of 2011 requires that at least one member of the State Civil Service
Commission be a military veteran to ensure compliance with required hiring
practices such as "Veterans' Preference."
Act 189 of 2012 makes it easier for military personnel and overseas
civilians to participate in state elections. It expands accommodations already
granted under federal law for federal elections to apply to state elections as well.
Act 6 of 2012 authorizes Pennsylvania to enter into an interstate compact to
help students in military families cope with the frequent relocations associated
with active duty service.
Act 192 of 2012 provides the first update to the Pennsylvania Code of
Military Justice in nearly 40 years.
Act 28 of 2012 expands eligibility for reduced-price fishing licenses to
deployed Pennsylvania Air National Guard members.
Act 64 of 2011 allows all Commonwealth hunting license-issuing agents to
sell reduced-fee hunting licenses to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and
Pennsylvania National Guard.
Act 38 of 2011 provides for honor guard burial details at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
Act 176 of 2012 allows for a veteran's designation on driver's licenses and identification cards.
Act 103 of 2012 provides special vehicle plates for recipients of the Silver
Star, Bronze Star and Bronze Star with Valor.
Act 158 of 2012 provides for special vehicle license plates for individuals
in the service of the United States Merchant Marine and veterans and members of
United States Military Airborne units.
