Population Growth, Aging Demographics Present a Clear Threat to PA’s Future
Losing young people to other states is one of the biggest threats to Pennsylvania’s future. Population loss relative to other states has caused Pennsylvania to lose at least one seat in Congress every decade since 1930. Our population is estimated to grow by just 1.6 percent through 2050, compared to the national average of 20 percent.
