SENATE BILL 840 (BROWN): Creates the free-standing Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Public Health Infrastructure Act, which will establish a permanent Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Division and Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Advisory Committee within the Department of Health. These groups will work to coordinate the state response to Alzheimer’s Disease and related disorders, as well as advocate policy measures and secure federal funds.

HOUSE BILL 1853 (SHUSTERMAN and MARCELL): Amends Act 48 of 1979, the Health Care Facilities Act, to direct the Pennsylvania Department of Health to hold annual meetings with licensed nursing facilities under its jurisdiction. The meetings will discuss and analyze results of surveys that the department currently conducts on a regular basis.
