AGENDA
• Senate Bill 1300 P.N. 1845 (Langerholc) – Amends Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) to increase the statutory limitations on damages for catastrophic injuries
in causes of actions against governmental entities.
o Amendment No. 05770 (Baker) – Removes provision requiring amount of damages to be reduced by insurance benefits received or entitled to be received by the claimant.
• House Bill 1509, P.N. 1725 (N. Nelson) – Amends Title 61 (Prisons and Parole) to allow county board of prison inspectors to appoint 2-4 county residents as members;
allows second class A counties to establish a board of inspectors by resolution.
o Amendment No. 05685 (Baker) – Transfers provisions of Act 47 of 2023pertaining to juvenile detention facilities to the Juvenile Act (contained in
Title 42), and makes additional changes for consistency with current law and practice.
